Universal Safety: The 4 Golden Rules

Regardless of the firearm discipline you choose, these four fundamental rules form the cornerstone of all handling and instruction at C2:

Treat every firearm as if it is loaded. Never assume a firearm is clear until you have personally physically and visually inspected the chamber.
Always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction. Never allow the muzzle of a firearm to point at anything you do not intend to shoot.
Keep your finger off the trigger until your sights are on target and you have made the decision to shoot. Your index finger rests indexed along the frame until you are ready to fire.
Be sure of your target and what is beyond it. Know your target, your backstop, and the surrounding environment—projectiles can penetrate barriers.
