1-on-1 Coaching FAQs
"Do I need to own a firearm to book a private coaching session?"
Not at all. In fact, booking a session before you buy is highly recommended. If you don't own a firearm yet, we provide pre-purchase guidance on the range. We will help you test different calibers and platforms to determine exactly what fits your hands, lifestyle, and goals before you spend your money on the wrong hardware.
"I have a persistent flinch and keep shooting low-left. Can you fix specific bad habits?"
Yes. That is exactly what 1-on-1 coaching is designed for. In a standard class, an instructor doesn't have the time to diagnose individual micro-mechanics. In a private session, Chris watches your grip, stance, trigger press, and follow-through to identify the exact cause of your inaccuracy. We don't just tell you to "shoot better"—we build custom drills specifically to break that bad habit and replace it with proper muscle memory.
"What is the difference between a class and private coaching?"
Standard classes (like our NRA Certifications) follow a strict, standardized curriculum required by a governing body. Private coaching has no set curriculum. It is custom-architected entirely around you. We evaluate your current skill level and design the exact drills you need to progress, moving at your speed without waiting on a group.
"I am a brand-new shooter and very nervous. Is private coaching intense?"
Absolutely not. C2 does not have a "Tactical Tom" drill-sergeant attitude to firearms training. Drawing from a 35-year background in hospitality as an Executive Chef, Chris prioritizes patience, clear communication, and a completely calm environment. Private coaching is actually the best environment for an anxious beginner, because there is no pressure from other students watching you learn.
"Can we run defensive drills and draw from concealment?"
Your goals dictate the session. If you are a beginner, we focus on foundational marksmanship and safety. If you are a seasoned CCW holder, we can build custom drills around drawing from a holster, defensive reloading, and failure-to-stop drills. As long as you can demonstrate strict safety protocols, we will scale the drills to match your capability.
"What exactly do I need to bring to the range for my private session?"
Once your application is confirmed, we will send you a brief checklist based on your goals. Generally, you need to bring your firearm (if you own one), reliable factory ammunition, and proper eye and ear protection. If we are running defensive drills, you will need a safe, proper-fitting holster. Most importantly, bring an open mind and a willingness to learn.
